So a post was shared in here of a screen from an old Musk tweet. Under this tweet from 2016, over 7 years ago, where Musk made a bullshit claim that Teslas would be able to drive themselves in 2 years, which is obviously not true, Marques Brownlee wrote “whoa”. Remember this was back then when most of us liked or at least didn’t hate Elon. But then the comments under the Reddit post just started piling up with very hateful stuff about Marques. It went from: “ok maybe he should’ve known that claim was completely impossible” to “everything Marques Brownlee does and stands for is terrible and he’s a fraud just as bad as Elon”. Some arguing because he has said some positive things (and some negative) about Tesla solar panels that he’s therefore a huge Musk lover, with no one considering these panels might actually be not so bad. Frankly, it’d be quite unprofessional if Marques would simply refuse to say anything good about a product from either one of Musk’s firms. Musk hasn’t even got anything to do with the development of these products - that’s why some of them are actually pretty great.
