[help] Any idea how to replicate style

have some extra scrap and was curious if it’s possible to replicate Old surplus beaver barf look as a table top.

Extrude 0.25in circle into square piece

Hello, I’m new to wood working so any insight wood be really appreciated. The goal: extrude a circle into the square wood piece 0.25inches. What I’ve tried: using a cove 0.5inch router bit on a palm router and a drill press. What is the best way to do this?

A mesquite fireplace surround I made from Mesquite slab scraps & Epoxy

Can these blotchy spots be removed or is it just the permanent coloring of the wood?

I’m not sure what causes this discoloration, but are the dark splotches something that can be fixed/removed somehow? Or it is just an ugly, blotchy piece of wood? I want to use this slab for a wedding “guest book” and planned on sanding it down real nice, but it’s not looking good.

Wipe-on Poly over Poly+Stain?

Looking for advice on a dining table. Top is a 9’ long slab. We used Behr Poly+Stain to finish it and we have three thin coats applied. Happy with the color, but not the uneven gloss. At this point, I don’t want to add any more color and I’m wondering if I could do a wipe on poly over this finish to get it more even. I’ve had some good luck with wipe on poly in the past and we’re looking for a satin or low gloss finish.

Help! Why is my wood stain leaving lines in the wood?

(ignore the blue tape) I’ve been trying to stain some ash wood (for a guitar project) and I’ve been practice staining some scrap ash wood. However, every time I try to stain it, it leaves these streaks/lines of unstained wood. Why isn’t my stain working? I’m using a trans-tint dye (red mahogany). I’ve mixed it with water, water + denatured alcohol, and pure denatured alcohol; I’ve tried sanding to different grits and pre-raising the wood and sanding, and NOTHING WORKS. Someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong.

Possible warping on this style of tabletop?

I have a peice of furniture I made awhile ago in school things didnt turn out the best so im repurposing it and turning it into a low coffee table. The only problem is the pannels from the peice are 18 wide were the lenght is shorter than the width. The way it was build it could pull that off but in a coffee table if I made the pannel 2ft wide and 18 long could the fact that its made 6 boards cause the pannel to bow or cup significantly? Would alternating the grain direction of the parts of the tabletop mitigate this or is this just a bad idea.

What’s the next step?

Finally decided to replace the original uneven top with this piece of wood, got the hardware set up fine, w brackets to support. I am not fully sure of the next steps to make this kitchen island safe. I assume it’s a combo of sanding, adding something onto the wood to make it water resistant and safe for like using cleaning spray. (Also if I would like to paint it black, what step would that come in?) any help is greatly appreciated. First timer lol

Best way/product for this?

I need help getting the black stuff off this wooden table. There was a bag of trash that was sitting under a pile of stuff that leaked black sludge causing this. Is there anything I can do or any products I can use to get this out? Thank you in advance.
