Tips to seal painting?

Made a night stand coffee mug and glasses holder deal. Did a painting on the back with oil based paint and paint markers for the lines. When I did a pour on high gloss epoxy it made the paint marker lines bleed. Sanded it all back down. Redid the painting. Now, what might I use as a sealer before the epoxy to make sure the paint doesn’t bleed? Thanks!

What’s the best way to cut and glue this tabletop shape?

I’m likely going to practice with some cheap material before using my good walnut, but I need to make 3 tabletops 18” x 36”. I want to use this shape but am not 100% sure on how to assure all the cuts line up. If it’s not obvious the ends are supposed to be 45 degree angles. Should I do the entire border piece first and then try and fit the boards in the center. The ones in the middle don’t necessarily need to be the same size as the border pieces. Or measure and glue it all at once? I feel like I’m about to waste a lot of wood if I just get chopping. How would you tackle this design and glue up?

Stack/Attach Bookcases

I'm going to attach a second one of the bookshelves pictured above on top of itself I'll need to cut about an inch out of the height to make it fit in the room I'm planning it for. Planning on cutting that out of the bottom using a circular saw. Worried/unsure how to make sure that I cut the exact same amount from each vertical Looking for recommendations for how to approach the project please! I'm a complete novice Thanks in advance

First time trying to make something pretty

Made this Blackbutt bench seat from reclaimed wood from a local salvage yard. I learned a few lessons in preparation for making the dining table next. It gave me a great excuse to get a domino and an ETS EC 150!

Help! Waxed cotton jacket left stains/marks on wood bannister

Sorry if this isn’t the right sub to post this. I left a waxed cotton jacket on this wood banister for a day or two and it left this behind. Is there any way to fix it aside from refinishing the banister? I’m assuming some of the wax melted onto the banister because of the rad nearby. I’ve tried soap and water, vinegar and water, and using a hair dryer.
