This small thin piece of metal came in a tapestry kit from France and I cannot figure out what it is or could be used for. Can you help? It’s about an inch and a half long.

Assuming this is some tourist trap item, what cultural item does this represent? Solid brass or bronze, hollow footed object with no lid. Found in a Midwestern resale shop.
