Europe eyes €10bn astronaut plan ahead of Rome summit

European nations are considering a €10 billion proposal to launch their own astronauts, aiming to strengthen the continent's independent presence in space. The plan will be discussed at the 15 December European Space Agency summit in Rome, where decisions on astronaut missions, cargo capabilities, and overall investment levels are expected. The push reflects a broader desire to reduce technological reliance on other countries.

Should Europe prioritize independent astronaut launches or continue partnering with other space agencies?
