James Webb Telescope hints at possible star collisions in early universe

A new look at the distant universe suggests star-on-star crashes may have been far more common billions of years ago. The James Webb Space Telescope has spotted extraordinarily compact stellar systems from not long after the Big Bang, a type of environment where such collisions become much more likely. In our own galactic neighborhood, space is so vast that stars rarely meet, but these tight clusters flip that logic. The observations raise the possibility that collisions between stars were once much more common.

What do you think dense star clusters might have meant for planet formation back then?
