The first hour was mostly crossing empty stretches with nothing pulling me along. I kept checking how far the next settlement was and wondering if it was worth it.

Then the combat in those old ruins pulled me back in. Picking a route through the stones and having to handle enemies up close actually made the time pass differently.

Crimson Desert Enhanced still limits how much the fights change once you're out in the open forests though. For twenty minutes you're mostly choosing the next path and repeating the same exchanges.
