Lars began displaying paranoid behavior, contacting his mother with fears of being harmed and asking her to cancel his credit cards. On July 8, he arrived at Varna Airport but fled after shouting, "I don't want to die here," leaving behind his luggage, wallet, phone, and passport. He was never seen again.
