New kitten constantly attacking resident cat

Oooooh buddy. Introductions have been a roller coaster, I finally felt like we were making progress and could keep them together during the day and only separate at night. It’s been 4 weeks since bringing the new kitten home. He’s almost 12 weeks, and quite the confident little ball of energy. After 2 weeks of keeping them separate but with lots of scent swapping, eating meals together we decided to try. My spayed female cat immediately went on her back and looked calm and happy. The kitten went in the for attack (play) and big girl growled and hissed. They’ve been able to nap in same room, eat beside each other, walk by each other with no stress, fun tap tap playing, lots of chasing from both sides and general curiosity. Issue is resident cat just wants to chill in the room with all of us but the kitten will not let up. Constant sneak attacks which cause big cat to growl talk and hiss and swap. He lunges at her constantly. There are no chunks of fur flying anywhere and I’ve been told “you’ll know when they’re fighting”… but is this excessive? Kitten is pooped now and is happily napping but goodness me, round 11’489 comin’ up. TLDR: Kitten thinks he’s a WWE star and resident cat just wants to chill. I did it again, my Sasha was below my feet, I didn't know and BAM I gave her a boot, accidentally of course. I feel so bad because it's definitely not a light tap. Yet she'll be back at it again like nothing happened because she just loves the love. Just wanted to give a shout out to all the kitties getting the boot of love.
