The Great Bed of Ware was made by Jonas Fosbrooke ~1590 of oak. It was mentioned in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night in about 1601, and Ben Johnson's Epicœne in 1609 and later in Byron's Don Juan and Dickens' The Holly Tree. It's 3.38m × 3.26m (10' × 11') and it's said to take 4 couples. [960×1231]
