UPS Strike Imminent
What about it?
Hey all,
As many of you are probably aware, the contract between the IBT and UPS expires on August 1st of this year.
So far, a few small tentative agreements have been reached. But as of right now, the negotiations have stalled. The company refuses to budge of key issues such as part-time pay and health care.
No date has been set for negotiations to continue.
If a strike happens, the entire U.S. economy will be hit hard.
UPS moves 20 MILLION packages per day.
I’m hoping to get some support for my fellow Teamster brothers and sisters.
Nobody WANTS to strike. But, by our most recent vote, 97% of us are willing to do it for the pay we deserve.
Let’s put some pressure on this billion dollar company to get a deal passed without having to risk the economy at whole.
UPS bought back 5.5 BILLION in stock last year. They can afford to pay their workers their fair share.
A good contract here would be an amazing with for the Teamsters. Paving a great road ahead to unionize another corporate behemoth: Amazon.
