I had a small piece of Spanish oak from my last wood unboxing video that had a crack on it and didn’t know what to do with it. Took it to the band saw and carved a puppy out of it

Identity my wood!

What about it?

Hi Gang I have a built-in buffet that's not original to my house and is different than the house's woodwork. Can anyone identify the wood type based off the picture? Thanks so much!

Hardwood floor question.

What about it?

I recently bought a house and tore up the old carpet and it had beautiful hardwood underneath. The problem is, there main boards are rubbing against this vertical one (in about a 12” spot) and it makes a very obnoxious, loud, squeaking noise. Any ideas on how to stop the squeak? Sorry if this doesn’t fit here, r/homeimprovement is down and idk where else to ask. Thank you!

Looking for suggestions on pool deck.

What about it?

Trying to fill this gap and don’t have many ideas besides adding another 4x4 on a cinder block. Any help is appreciated. Lesson learned to not bring the beam all the way.

Complete novice looking for tablesaw safety advice.

What about it?

Hi there, I'm looking to see if this would be the normal set-up for making 45° cuts on these boards or is there a more preferred way safety wise to avoid the board getting kickback from the fence position? The main piece would be on the right of the blade and the offcut corner would be on the left. Thank you all in advance.
