Did Azula know that if she killed Aang in the Avatar state the Avatar cycle would be broken? I always assumed she did as a kid but don’t know for sure. Her smile after just seems so knowing, and it feels like she was waiting to strike. She is extremely intelligent, and maybe there were some old Fire Nation texts that talked about the Avatar state. Also, everyone hunting Aang was careful not to kill him because they knew he would just be reincarnated and that wasn’t ideal. So it seems like she would only kill him in this way if she knew that the cycle would be broken. What do you guys think?
