Should I buy a pH tester for canning?

What about it?

Newbie here! I'm looking to start canning this season and of course I want to be sure that I'm doing everything correctly, especially when it comes to avoiding stuff like botulism. I was thinking about buying either a digital pH tester or pH testing strips so that while I'm getting used to various recipes I can make sure that they are acidic enough to prevent botulism from growing. Just wondering if anyone has products they use and recommend or any products that I should steer clear of. Thanks in advance! Including a shot of yesterday's sunset.

Burning tree roots and relaxation

Spent the day digging up tree stumps so now I get to relax by the fire this evening. I have come a long way but still miles to go. With any luck and more hard work, I'll have room to make a nice garden next year

Hello all, woke up to piglets this morning, there were 11 in total but one died, the thing I'm worried about is he was literally 2 times as big as the rest. Like he absorbed number 12 and was huge. Anyone ever have that happen?

Owl boxes help with pests

Simple scrap wood build, two 96” 4x4 posts, 18” hole, 1 bag quickcrete, two 8” 1/2” bolts/washers/nuts. Leveled one post in the ground, drilled 1/2” holes 18” apart and bolted it together.

Made marinara and pickled hot banana peppers from the garden.

What about it?

Included Roma tomatoes, hot banana peppers, basil, and elephant garlic all homegrown.

I’ve asked my neighbor for months to get his dogs (pitbull mix & terrier mix) under control. I was bit 9 times & they killed my buck rabbit. I couldn’t get to a gun before they took off. After a brief call about it I got this text.

So I built a couple of these water tote stands and I have another tote on a trailer and I have a scavenged RV 12V water pump and an old motorcycle battery and that is what I have been using to move water. I usually take it from my rooftop collection, pump it to my trailer tote and then pump that into these totes. I really need more uphill water collection/storage.. But more immediately, my dog wants me to throw her ball for her ✌😁..

The wife and I went mushroom hunting today. We did fairly well.
