I only just realized that he dies the moment she leaves. I always thought his death occurs after you give ranni the ring. After everything was done and final. Nope. She kills him before fighting the 2 fingers or the shadows. Like "just in case I don't make it." *forces the man with the funny hat to do a keg stand with some funny blue liquid* He deserves though.
