Retrofit Sink for Coffee Bar
I have an awkward corner next to a staircase that I want to install cabinets on and make into a coffee bar.
I will be moving that outlet up and swapping to a GFCI if I get water there.
Right behind this wall is a toilet in the downstairs powder room and the PEX there runs cold water upstairs to a shower and tees to the toilet.
The drain pipe there is for the shower and an upstairs toilet, my gut feeling is that I can't use that drain pipe for reasons I don't understand fully.
The questions I have:
1. Can I just tee this water line with a PEX tee
2. How can I support the water stub-out in a retrofit like this and what products should I use to do the tee/stub-out
3. Can I use the drain line and should I saddle or use a Y
4. How can I support the drain pipe (if applicable)
5. Is a p-trap kit good enough (if applicable)
Hot water valve doesn’t shut off all the way unless I also shut off cold water
So I tried shutting off the hot water valve and water was spraying everywhere. I turned it as much as I could. I figured maybe I turned it the wrong way, so I turned it counter clock wise and the pressure was even stronger. So I turned it back clockwise, water still shooting everywhere. I then decided to shut off the cold water valve and then it just stopped.
This is under the sink btw.
Tub replacement: how do I get access to the plumbing below?
There is a bedroom behind it but it’s on the same level so I don’t think I’ll get low enough.
This is either directly above the corner in the kitchen or in the wall space between the kitchen and garage.
Do I just start cutting into the ceiling in the corner and hope it’s close enough? Put in the new tub plumbing and test it all then close it with drywall/plaster/paint?
Hot water recirculating pump fail?
So I have a Grundflos UP 10-16 PM recirculating hot water pump and system that has worked well for 7 years. But no more. Hot water in the shower stopped. I switched the Grundflos off ‘Adapt’ to 100% and thought it was working but only for a few minutes then cold water I switched it to temperature control and same thing.
So I am not sure how to trouble shoot this. A new pump is $408 and a week away. Any ideas?
Can someone tell me what this is called?
Installed a new sink which has a greater depth than the previous one. The current plumbing won’t fit into the sink drains and the garbage disposal is going to be too close to this thing. Can someone please enlighten me as to what this is called and how do I remove it?
Thanks all!
