In 1930, the Indiana Bell building was moved and rotated 90 degrees. This was all done without interrupting customer telephone service or telephone business operations.

The Indiana Bell Building (AKA the AT&T Building or the SBC Building), was rotated in 1930 as part of its expansion. The building was originally constructed in 1929, and it housed the offices of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company. To accommodate the growing need for office space, they decided to rotate the entire structure 90 degrees, which allowed for an additional wing to be constructed on the site. This unique engineering feat was achieved by placing the building on a set of rails and slowly rotating it without disrupting its operations.
