Hi guys, thinking about getting 2 Dwarf Rex Rabbits and am currently searching for a suitable cage. Could need some experience-based assistance though.
So the problem is, I'm not too rich at the moment, so I'm needing a compromise between not harming the bunnies by providing the wrong kind of material, shape or size and being able to afford it to invest a bit more in high quality interior items and food.
I'm planning on lining the bottom with double or triple rodent rug to keep the cold of the floor away from them and the walls of the two lowest right quadrants with some opaque material so they've got a dark place to retreat if needed.
I also would build the top platform exactly the same way as the lower one, only 180° rotated, change the ladders to something the can't get stuck in and the door panel on the top most wall panel, where I would put the food and water.
Maybe I even would line the bottom most panel walls halfway, so the hay has a harder time to get out of the cage.
What do you think about this one? Please be honest, I need to know if I should rather wait a bit and save up some more money or if it's an adequate cage to start with? Thanks in advance.
