Hot Water tank leaking - can’t figure out where from?
Hear a dripping sound from the machine but can’t figure out from where? Checked the top and am the values - all are dry, looks like leak is from the bottom but hear a dripping noise like it’s falling from a small height. All the plumbers are off this weekend in my area. Water is touching furnace as well. Is this an emergency? What should I do?
How do you know what shower cartridge to buy?
Got me a rusty shower cartridge. Apparently it needs replacing but I don't know how to tell which cartridge is the right fit! I've contacted the manufacturer (Grohe) but it might be quite the wait to hear back. Any tips on shower cartridge identification and where one even buys such a thing? Woulda been cool if they'd thrown a modem number on this sucker...
Need help with brown sulfur hot water
I was gone for almost a full week. I am on city water, but it’s a very small town. House is just over a year old. It’s been 100 here almost everyday for the past 2 months.
Do I just need to empty out the water heater and refill it a few times to clean it out?
Bathtub leak from my new tub
I had a new bathtub installed a few months ago and just used it for the first time. It is leaking below into my basement. I found a bad rubber gasket on the new pvc that was installed. Should I be asking my installer to fix this? Also, how easy of a fix is this? Is this something I can fix on my own from below in the basement?

T adapter for a bidet is too large for existing hoses/pipes and I can’t find a solution/adapters that would work anywhere
Not quite sure if this fits this sub but it’s my best bet unless someone can direct me elsewhere. My problem is a bought a bidet for my old house and it worked great. But when I moved the new toilets existing pipes/hose are too small. And looking online for any kind of adapters or even a smaller bidet yields no results. If anyone can tell me what I need to buy and where I could find it I’d be great full. The T I’m holding in my hand was 1 ich or 15/16 on the visible ends and smaller on the part that goes towards the bidet, and the house pipe/toilet hose are about 1/2 inch
I tried to capture as much glory in one photo as I possibly could
Polybutylene, the weirdest pvc fitting (looks illegal) I have ever seen, and some genius ran the water softener drain by DRILLING A HOLE in the end cap. It’s funny because the lazy way, IMO, to run that drain would be shoving it in the nearby laundry standpipe.. but that requires moving the washing machine lol.
Don’t even ask about the drain line in the back. The first half goes slightly uphill for a bit and the second half screams downhill. Not a plumber, but I helped the owner delete all the poly and ran pex with a couple of copper manifolds. It wasn’t perfect, but certainly better than what he had lol. Recommended getting the drains corrected ASAP
Looking for a solution to a constant overfill please
So I have a few problems but want to just focus on the one atm. Because of a constant leak the toilet is constantly refilling with water, this isnt the problem I want to fix atm but if you have this solution as well please I am desperate lol. However, every time the toilet refills it keeps overflowing into the center thing and it wont stop until I lift the top and flick or shake some stuff around enough times. Nothing in particular I have noticed, when I think it's one thing and focus on it, it doesnt do anything until I mess with everything. I want to stop the overflow problem first before the leakage as it appears to me to be wasting more water than the leak.
I appreciate any help, thank you.
