First time living in my own apartment. Thoughts on this potential design?

Basement gaming room. Thoughts?

For the most part I’m happy with it but I feel like I could do better with the furniture or even the set-up. I do realize all the wall decor is Naruto and all over the place, but I’m limited on space. I’m not very fond of the purple chair, but I’m not allowed to get rid of it unfortunately. There’s not much I can do about the dingy basement feel/look so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

How do you guys feel about roll curtains? Do you prefer regular curtains over them?

Mostly everything thrifted or dirt cheap.

Been 6 months living alone. Time to make it “mines”.

31M been a little over 6 months living on my own now. Originally this was supposed to be a temporary solution til I can find something better or purchase a home. But doesn’t look like it’ll happen here anytime soon so I might just stay a little longer here. As you can see, it’s very basic 1/1 700 sqft unit. I have a medium size dog so I wanted to make sure I laid out everything that’ll maximize space (he’s extremely anxious so a lot of the times we only play indoors, plus it’s hot here in Miami lol). I’m looking for ideas how or what I should improve with this space. I plan on hanging some pictures I’ve taken but still on the fence with it. Can y’all give me some ideas? I’m horrible with coordination and color matching and do t have money to get an interior designer. P.S. I’ve gotten it a lot but no rugs. My dog sheds alot and I feel like it’ll be a lot of work and it’ll get stained with his hair within months.
