To think we've laughed at Nvidia. What's up with new gen being worse than previous gen (in certain situations)?

Is this a good current day build? My GPU is a 2070 Super, but will upgrade at a later point. Also - is the i9 worth it over a the i7? Or is i7 fine for gaming?

What is this thing that’s bent on my MSI Z490, and is it a problem?

I removed my Noctua to change out the thermal paste and saw this piece of hardware on the board that’s bent sideways compared to the rest. What is it? My build has been steady for two years now with no abnormal crashes, shutdowns, etc… so I am guessing it’s linked to some kind of capacitor?

Took advice from this place and got a new graphics card today, not concerned with waterblock

Today is about to be a great day last I need is should I upgrade my 3800x to the 5800x3D or just save up for next gen? Will the cpu be OK for a couple more years?

Trying to boot Yumi exFAT, but it boots into Grub.

The web doesn’t say anything about this, what do I do? It doesn’t let me chainload any of the files either!

Thinking about building a new PC

Does this look like a good build? I want a gaming pc that I can also use as a work station. It looks like a really good price for the ram, storage, and graphics card, but the i5 turns me off a little

To elaborate: I'm not a hardcore gamer, I don't care that much about all the individual specs, I just want something powerful enough to run most games well and without lag. I might use it for streaming, video editing, and very possibly 3d modeling. Are the cpu and GPU combo good enough for what I need?

Crashes, hangs, and lines… is my GPU failing?

GPU - 5700XT, ~4 years old Installed Middle Earth: Shadow of War on my PC a few days ago, and ever since I’ve been experiencing extremely erratic behaviors including system crashes (blue screen is corrupted and fragmented, disappears almost instantly), game crashes and hangs, software issues, and lines. I ran Time Spy on 3DMark, did not crash. Ran AMD’s stress test, didn’t crash. Windows says hardware is working as intended, but it’s obviously not. Tried repairing and re-installing drivers, doesn’t seem to have helped (see pic). Should I assume I’m going to have to bite the bullet and get a new GPU? Or could there be something linked to the game file (which I’ve since uninstalled with no improvement to performance) or a corrupted file somewhere? Thanks in advance.
