McDonnell Douglas YC-15

McDonnell Douglas YC-15 S/N 72-1875 The McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) YC-15 was a four engine short take-off and landing (STOL) tactical transport. It was McDonnell Douglas’ entrant into the United States Air Force’s Advanced Medium STOL Transport (AMST) competition to replace the Lockheed C-130 Hercules as the USAF’s standard STOL tactical transport. In the end, neither the YC-15 nor the Boeing YC-14 was ordered into production, although the YC-15’s basic design would be used to form the successful C-17 Globemaster III. Two YC-15s were built, one with a wingspan of 110 feet (S/N 72-1876) and one with 132 feet (S/N 72-1875). Both were 124 feet long and powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT8D-17 engines. The first flight was 26 August 1975

I'm seeing a lot of doubt about adopting FIV+ kitties lately... please just know, it is possible to have an FIV+ cat and still have a good life together!

Sure, there is no guarantee and they can be hard work.. but we've had Axl for more than 4 years now, and he has had a couple of health declines but with the right treatment he's overall been having a great second shot at life. He was about 6 at the time of adoption (left) and FIV+ for who knows how long before that. He has 3 (vaccinated) feline siblings, all remain unaffected. Watching and helping him come back to life was an incredible journey and I would not change a thing (although if he didn't have it in the first place that would've been pretty cool). He's been the most grateful cat I've ever met and he gives me thank you cuddles every chance he gets. Him and I both appreciate how lucky he is and that feeling is what makes it all worth it. Please just know, if they are FIV+ it does not mean that you and the cat can not have a fulfilling life together, no matter the time frame.
