Do cedar ceilings need a finish?

I did this ceiling yesterday and I really like the way it looks raw. Can I just leave it? Or maybe just oil it with boiled linseed oil at most? What’s the best way to keep it looking the way it is now?

I need to rip 6" x 18" drawer sides from this maple that warped. Toss it and get new or rip what I can and pray I don't regret it?

Picked up some off cuts today. Most of it walnut, maple, cherry. Can’t identify this one, though.
