I broke/bruised my ribs due to overplaying this season.
I started playing again this season again after a good 15 year break. Ofc im hooked again and all i wanna do it play golf.
So thats what i did since around may until about 10 days ago. In mid june i started noticing pain in upper back (little bit in the ribs sometimes). Ofc i tried to stretch more, massages and less range sessions.
Which helped a lot, but i couldnt take more than one day off because i really wanted to practice.
So about 10 days ago i said stop, the pain was too much. Took a week off, not one swing. Then i figured id go putt and chip after a week off. Putting went fine, after over an hour of putting..
I started chipping, warmed up very well like always. Hit some (about 5) clean 30-40 meter pitch shots.. no pain. Figured ok Lets try the trampoline at 50 meters..
The second i made contact with the ball i felt something in my ribs (right side) snap. Something broke or snapped 100%. The pain was instant and insane, could barely drive home.
Got it confirmed in the ER i had a stress fracture on my ribs. Im so bummed out, up here in Norway we have at most a month left of golf.. im probably not hitting a ball again for a long time.
Ive been putting though and its starting to get solid. Im gonna x10 my putting game in the meantime haha.
Just a warning, listen to your body guys! I didnt and am suffering a lot because of it. Play the course more than ranging (esp. if you are mid to low handicap). Wish i took that tip from a mate two months ago.
(Just added a random pic of my mate finishing his round on the 18th a while back, i miss it so much lol).
