Does Lego make this train track “insert” that is compatible with a curved track?

Part number 4638990. I have set 79110 wanting to modify to extend the track if possible for a MOC.

Has anyone else noticed that the Modular’s releases follow a “straight, corner, straight” pattern? Or am I imagining it?
