Spent the first hour wanting to throw my controller across the room. Every encounter felt like the game was deciding whether I got to play or not. Then the fight against the ridge guardian flipped it. My Aniimo actually landed the stun at the exact frame the boss started its second phase, and I finally felt like I was the one making the calls instead of just reacting.
Still, the outpost building is a joke once you hit the material wall. You can only queue two upgrades at a time no matter how many resources you’re sitting on, so progress crawls while your inventory fills with junk you can’t spend. I get that it’s supposed to stop hoarding, but it just makes the loop feel padded.
The death that stuck with me was the canyon ambush. Three players jumped me while I was harvesting, and my Aniimo got chain-stunned before I could even open the summon wheel. It didn’t feel cheap, just fast and mean, which is honestly the only part that still has me thinking about the next session.
