A 1650's cabinet-on-stand for Queen Henrietta Maria, for her London residence, Somerset House. The striking two-colour effect of the veneer is created when cocus wood is endcut, allowing the chocolate heartwood to contrast with the yellow sapwood. Silver mounts with Henrietta's cypher. [1582x2000]
