Advice for mats on wooly buns’ feet?
What about it?
Hi everyone,
We’ve posted about this before, so apologies in advance.
Buddy is a Fuzzy Lop, so he’s a wooly bun. He gets mats sometimes, but we’re vigilant about brushing him daily to curtail the incidence. He also gets mats on the sides and bottoms of his feet.
Now, our vet advises not to trim the hair on Buddy’s feet. This advice is also on this forum. We understand that for most, especially non-wooly, buns the hair is essential as padding and prevents sore hocks.
However, as a wooly bun, Buddy gets matted balls as large as cherries (~0.75inches in diameter) on the bottoms of his feet. These seem uncomfortable for him and we’ve seen him biting at them numerous times. We started trimming parts of the mats, but they build up quickly. Should we shave the matted balls?
Thank you!
Help! How do I get the bunpile to accept me as one of their own?
What about it?
The cool popular bunkids at the pen are always hanging out together. Cuddling and chilling.
I tried to sit with them once, but they all just got up, walked away while giving me the stink eye.
How do I get accepted as one of them?
I already buy them snacks and do their bidding.. they are even violent sometimes when I don't get them snacks quick enough!
One even bit me when I said I couldn't get nanners cause it was midnight and nothing was open.
