Yesterday before entering Limgrave and the tutorial, this boss showed up and completely killed me in 3 hits, was it supposed to happen? Spirit Ashe/Setup strategy for Malenia?

Hi! I have finally reached the moment I have been so long waiting for and as expected, Malenia whoops my ass. I have barely managed to get her to half hp in second phase (that with mimic tear). I am currently using Giant Crusher (Lion's Claw) with Radahn's Armor. My main strategy was to keep her staggered as much as possible in the first phase, but in the second phase she kinda destroys me. I barely manage to dodge her flower explosion when the phase starts and the waterfowl is pretty annoying. I will try my best to learn her moveset, but is there any better setup to beat her? I saw some old posts about RoB with mimic, but that got extremely nerfed.
