Drilled from the bottom instead of the top and left with this on the finish; will white wood filler fix the problem?

First box call for turkey hunting

99% of my work until now has been on the lathe, making turkey, duck, and deer calls. This is the first box call I've ever made, and it actually sounds good which is a plus.

How difficult is this?

I have very limited woodworking experience, but how difficult would it be to make a table like this? I have lots of old planks and beams laying around that I could use.

Can these blotchy spots be removed or is it just the permanent coloring of the wood?

I’m not sure what causes this discoloration, but are the dark splotches something that can be fixed/removed somehow? Or it is just an ugly, blotchy piece of wood? I want to use this slab for a wedding “guest book” and planned on sanding it down real nice, but it’s not looking good.

Wipe-on Poly over Poly+Stain?

Looking for advice on a dining table. Top is a 9’ long slab. We used Behr Poly+Stain to finish it and we have three thin coats applied. Happy with the color, but not the uneven gloss. At this point, I don’t want to add any more color and I’m wondering if I could do a wipe on poly over this finish to get it more even. I’ve had some good luck with wipe on poly in the past and we’re looking for a satin or low gloss finish.
