Tried that dinosaur thing after a friend kept mentioning it and figured I might as well see what the pacing was actually like. Started small on the big map, mostly walking between patches of grass and checking thirst every few minutes while nothing much crossed my path.

At one point I found a half-eaten carcass near some rocks and managed to eat without getting spotted, but then it was back to slow movement across open ground. The whole stretch felt like it stretched out with long gaps between any real decisions.

The growth barely registers after twenty minutes and most encounters just mean turning around to avoid something bigger. In The Isle the waiting between those small actions starts to feel like the main activity.

Started thinking one quick hub match would be enough but the ranks pulled me in and next thing the clock showed hours gone. Lost a round when my drive rush got stuffed by a perfect parry into full combo and the health bar melted before I could even tech the throw.

That World Tour spar with the local after the story beat kept forcing the same input string and if you miss the window once it punishes like you cheated the system. Felt cheap instead of hard.

Street Fighter™ 6 still makes the actual exchanges feel raw but the spike between normal and ranked lobbies needs a warning sign.

I picked it up again after setting it down for months and noticed how the terrain actually changes underfoot when you're hauling back a load of thatch.

Most of the first twenty minutes went to inching toward a parasaur with a handful of mejoberries while the taming bar crept up one percent at a time and nothing else moved.

The real limit is how little the game gives you to do once the approach starts, so you end up watching the same slow meter more than you'd like.

In ARK: Survival Ascended the later breeding work probably changes the pace, though the early hours still feel thinner than they need to be.
