Lane Notes

Went in convinced it was going to feel like a budget knock-off of every other third-person shooter. An hour in and I’m still not wrong, just less annoyed. Most of the first twenty minutes is spent walking Dylan down empty sidewalks, pressing the same bumper to nudge debris out of the way, then watching the same slow animation play every time a rift opens.

The one thing that actually worked for me was when I pulled a fire-escape ladder through a tear and dropped it on the hostiles below; the timing felt tight for once instead of floaty. Everything else drags. Upgrading the skill tree is just clicking nodes that shave a second off an already generous cooldown, so the pacing never really changes.

CONTROL Resonant kept the same deliberate loop the whole time I played, and that deliberate loop is the only thing keeping me from turning it off after the next rift.
