A friend pushed me to try it anyway, even though the setup sounded like every other extraction loop I've seen. You land and spend the first stretch just walking between spots, grabbing whatever's scattered around and figuring out what combines into something usable.

I ended up crouched by a cluster of crates for what felt like ten minutes, breaking down parts to make a basic trap. A wolf showed up before I finished and I had to back off empty-handed.

Eternal Return keeps that early phase going too long, so the actual fights only happen once the zone starts pushing everyone together. It works if you like the slow build, but it leaves too much time where nothing much changes.

Tried to push through a last-minute deal for a defender but the board kept rejecting every offer. Ended up settling for someone who didn't fit the tactic at all.

Football Manager 2024 dragged that whole session out way longer than it needed to.

The actual game after that was worse when a late challenge on my striker should have been a straight red but only got a yellow. Felt like the match just decided the result instead of letting the team fight for it.

That one formation tweak in extra time still worked though, even if everything around it was a headache.

I loaded up Factorio after midnight and mostly sat there moving the same few belts around. Twenty minutes in and I had only managed to shift one mining outpost a little farther out, then watched the whole chain adjust at its usual steady pace.

One inserter kept feeding ore onto the wrong belt and I left it alone for a while, just to see how long the backup would take to matter. That small jam stayed in my head longer than the new assembly line I had planned to finish.

It still feels too deliberate when you're already tired. You notice every repeated click but nothing really changes fast enough to hold attention.
